Tony LaRussa says the pitcher will bat eighth again. No surprise there. My first thought when I saw that he was going to change that last year was that it was a great move-one of the things that my coaches had done the whole way up playing use to put a “second lead off”, and it always seemed to pay off. The same could be said with the Cardinals last year, who score 3/10 of a run more a game after the switch last year, which, over the course of the season, is a lot. I like the move……
